After announcing her musical reinvention as Toro Gato, Kat Graham releases the TORO GATO: PART I EP as a limited release exclusively on YellowHeart, the NFT marketplace for music, ticketing and community tokens which accepts both crypto and credit card payments. It’s one of the first albums ever to be released as an NFT exclusive.
The self-titled EP includes six unreleased songs with accompanying short films. Starting off with the opening track, FALL 4 U, Toro Gato sets the tone by burying Kat in the video, signifying the death of the pop-dance performer and the birth of the trip-hop infused artist. With the painfully honest admissions on WHITE FLAG and THE UNKNOWN, to the brutal lyrics and aggressive production on SORRY I SHOT YOU, fans get a closer look into the notoriously private life of the artist.
Shedding the pop-dance performer image she was known for after a “soul epiphany” in 2017, Kat created Toro Gato, Spanish for Bull Cat. The birth of Toro Gato marks a new chapter in the artist’s musical life, indicating a major shift in her creative process. From the live string quartets paired with the haunting and fearless raw visuals, Toro Gato plants a flag in this new unchartered territory. Some of the original music production by Kat Graham was created over a decade ago for friend David Blaine’s specials.
In close collaboration with her partner Darren Genet, who directed all six films on the EP and was vital in the genesis of TORO GATO, Graham’s love of Chilean-French filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky helped inspire the music video.

In order to purchase “Toro Gato: Part I”, via a non-mobile device fans must first first set up, or connect an existing, NFT Wallet. You can find directions on how to do that HERE. Once these steps are complete, fans can head to the Toro Gato collection page (HERE) and click “Buy Now.” Upon purchase, head to “Redeem” on the top of the YellowHeart page, where you’ll then be prompted to download the folder holding all six songs and six videos.
