After announcing her musical reinvention as Toro Gato and releasing the first EP, Kat Graham releases the full 13-track TORO GATO: PART II album as an NFT exclusively on YellowHeart, the NFT marketplace for music, ticketing and community tokens. The collection can be found HERE and will go live at 12PM ET.
“From the beginning of this project I knew that everything from the sound to the visuals to the execution to the release required a different way of thinking. I wanted to take my music to a different level that felt artistic, vulnerable, ethereal and cinematic,” said the artist regarding her decision to release this album as an NFT. ”Yellowheart is my museum. It’s where I house my most precious records that I have been working on since I was 15 with nothing but a keyboard. It’s the museum that houses my most vulnerable performances as an artist, and the museum where I know that anyone that walks into that museum is there for that art.”

To date, all music and video in NFTs have allowed anyone to listen to the content even if they do not own the NFT. With this release, this is the first time ever that the audio and video content cannot be viewed without owning the actual NFT. The NFT serves as a key that unlocks the ability to stream the music and view videos. This is trailblazing technology and has the potential to shift the streaming business.
As part of the “TORO GATO: PART II” NFT album, fans will have five offerings to choose from. There are two digital only offerings – seven unreleased singles, exclusive video content, and the complete “Toro Gato” debut album – and three bundles, which include physical collectible items. These “bundles” include the digital offerings, as well as vinyls, cassettes, hoodies, and an iron-on patch. As a “thank you” to her early supporters, for the first thirty days the patch is exclusively available free of cost to those that purchased “Toro Gato: Part I” in September 2021.
Shedding the pop-dance performer image she was known for after a “soul epiphany” in 2017, Kat created Toro Gato, Spanish for Bull Cat. The birth of Toro Gato marks a new chapter in the artist’s musical life, indicating a major shift in her creative process. From the live string quartets paired with the haunting and fearless raw visuals, Toro Gato plants a flag in this new unchartered territory. Some of the original music production by Kat Graham was created over a decade ago for friend David Blaine’s specials.
In close collaboration with her partner Darren Genet, who directed the films on the album and was vital in the genesis of TORO GATO, Graham’s love of Chilean-French filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky helped inspire the music videos.
The artist is eager to share her vision and work with the world, saying “this album is much more personal than any album I have ever released previously. Being somebody that has dealt with a lot of heartbreak and loss in my life, it can own you, and haunt you. Toro Gato is the part of us that embraces that inner fight.”
