The GRAMMY-winning South African singer-songwriter Tyla extends her meteoric rise with the release of TYLA +, the deluxe edition of her genre-bending debut album. The updated tracklist, featuring three new tracks, adds even more fuel to the fire in her historic breakout season, launched in Summer 2023 and catapulting her into global superstardom.

TYLA + showcases his commitment to shining a light on surging South African talent. Opening track “Shake Ah” features DJ/producer Tony Duardo and singers Optimist and Maestro offering an energetic welcome into the new material. The remaining two tracks, “Push 2 Start” and “Back To You,” continue the exploration into his signature blend of Amapiano and R&B.

In a recent interview with Elle, she reflected on her love for Amapiano and its impact it had on her style: “When Amapiano would come on, we would see everybody’s moves just change. Seeing the energy of it…it felt so spiritual. I always wanted to mix it with other styles that I enjoy, like R&B and pop—and make it my own.”

Tyla’s rise to fame has been nothing short of remarkable. Her chart-topping hit “Water” went multi-platinum at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the highest-charting African female solo artist of all time.

Her debut album TYLA also reached such acclaim, landing in the Top 25 of the Billboard 200-an other feat that made her the highest-charting African female soloist on the album chart as well. “Water” went on to win a GRAMMY Award and secured Tyla a coveted performance spot during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Success for Tyla keeps snowballing, with four nominations at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards: Best New Artist, Best R&B Artist, Best Afrobeats Artist, and Best African Act. These nods come hot on the heels of her wins this summer at the BET Awards in the categories of Best New Artist and Best International Act, and her win at the MTV VMAs for Best Afrobeats Video.

With her career at an all-time high, Tyla prepares for a homecoming of epic proportions-announcing two massive tour dates in her native South Africa on December 5 and 7. Both the shows in South Africa will be the first shows in her own backyard since the release of “Water.” Tickets go on sale Thursday, and these shows are expected to be a celebratory return for one of the region’s most successful and globally recognized artists.

But Tyla’s journey is far from over. She recently teased more new music in store, saying to PEOPLE, “I’ve grown so much this year. I’ve evolved in so many different aspects that this new music is going to be that version of me, the now version of Tyla.”

As fans anxiously await what’s next, one thing is crystal clear: Tyla is only getting started.
