“Ke Dezemba!”
Starting the holiday season off with incredible energy, Tyla has shared the official music video for her latest single, “Shake Ah.” The specific song is one of three new inclusions on the deluxe edition of her debut album, TYLA+, that features guest appearances by Tony Duardo, EZ Maestro, and Optimist-three up-and-coming South African talents.
Shot against the energetic backdrop of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, the “Shake Ah” video is one high-octane dance party courtesy of Tyla. Coupled with her friends and collaborator Optimist, it really is a joyful celebration of movement and elation. The release comes off the heels of her highly successful music video for fan favorite track “Push 2 Start,” which has already clocked in over 11 million views on YouTube.
Tyla’s 2024 has been a year of milestones. Her GRAMMY win for Best African Music Performance, historic charting success with “Water,” and a string of accolades—including eight 2024 Billboard Music Award nominations—have solidified her as a global force. “Water” recently made history as the first solo song ever to spend a full year at #1 on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart.
Her achievements run through some of the highest stages and most prestigious awards shows, from the MTV EMAs to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and from the BET Awards to the South African Music Awards. Tyla has emerged as one of the brightest beacons of African excellence, and her influence shows absolutely no signs of waning.
December is looking to be the month that gets fans amped up, as Tyla makes her way into the motherland for a slew of homecoming shows. These highly anticipated performances will take place on December 4 in Johannesburg, partnered with COKE STUDIO™, then she heads to Cape Town on December 5, and finally in Pretoria on December 7.
And, as if that’s not enough noise, Tyla has just been announced on the 2025 Coachella Music Festival lineup, so her star power will be shining bright well into the new year. In addition, she has dived into the lifestyle space with a unique collaboration: a limited-edition Tyla Tyger Quencher cup inspired by the Stanley Cup craze.
