UMass Protests To Ban Theta Chi After Sexual Assault Allegations

Sexual assault allegations led to a large protest outside a fraternity house at UMass Amherst. Cars have been flipped outside of Theta Chi.

Police said the Theta Chi fraternity called them for help when a crowd of about 300 people gathered in front of the fraternity house. The officers threaten to put students in jail who were protesting

“Start walking,” one officer shouts in the video. “Don’t lose your education over this. There’s a process . . . and this isn’t it.”

The idea that police are telling students they can’t protest over sexual assault like this is alarming.

UMass fraternity spurs 11,000-signature petition to remove Theta Chi.
