When we were younger we use to hit the roller rink all the time. For kids, the roller rink was our Ace of Diamonds and 1 Oak nightclub. Wednesday’s was the days it only cost one dollar to skate. So after you got done with your homework you would meet up with all of your friends from school at the roller rink. We would be skating, dancing, and eating until our parents had to grab us by the neck to drag us off the skating floor.

As a society we forgot the importance of skating brought us. It brought us love and unity. HBO and John Legend put a film together, UNITED SKATES, to hopefully bring the skating community back together because it’s slowly disappearing.

At the premiere yesterday we had the opportunity to interview the creators and cast of this powerful film. They told us the importance of skating and skating tips.
