According to Global News, a teaching assistant’s career in British Columbia appears to be in jeopardy due to online activity that includes an OnlyFans account.
The 35-year-old teaching assistant reportedly received an unexpected electronic cease and desist letter from her employer at a secondary school in the Vancouver area last Friday morning.
The email was addressed to Kristin McDonald, but it was actually to “Ava James,” her alter ego on OnlyFans, a popular social media platform where users can sell original content, including pornographic material, to paying subscribers.
According to reports, MacDonald received an email from the secondary school directing her to stop all activity right away and delete all of his online social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and OnlyFans. “Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination,” according to the email.
Since July 2022, MacDonald has been creating adult content for OnlyFans and supporting Instagram and TikTok pages under the alias “Ava James.” Her OnlyFans side hustle has provided much-needed extra income for her infant daughter as a single mother.
Due to a recurring back injury, she is currently on medical disability. “We don’t make a living wage, and we live in one of Canada’s most expensive cities,” MacDonald told Global News.
Since 2015, MacDonald has worked in the Coquitlam School District, specializing in working with special needs children and teens.
MacDonald reportedly has not been disciplined or fired from her job at the secondary school.
