Why Is Susanna Gibson Going Viral?

A Democratic candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates is receiving attention this week after revelations about her past surfaced. It appears that the woman engaged in webcam performances of sexual acts with her husband in exchange for tips.

Susanna Gibson, who is running to represent District 57 in Richmond, has been reported by the NY Post for leaving very little to the imagination on the adult streaming website Chaturbate.

The Washington Post first reported that the nurse practitioner, who is 40 years old, participated in more than twelve live shows with her husband on the platform. These shows were later uploaded to a publicly accessible archive on the website Recurbate in September 2022, after she announced her candidacy.

What is intriguing about this is that she continued to maintain her profile even after declaring her campaign in July 2022. In the subsequent month, she posted at least one image of herself on the sex streaming platform.

Susanna told the Washington Post that the videos were “an illegal invasion of my privacy designed to humiliate me and my family.”

“It won’t intimidate me and it won’t silence me” Gibson said. “My political opponents and their Republican allies have proven thev’re willing to commit a sex crime to attack me and my family because there’s no line they won’t cross to silence women when they speak up.”

Daniel P. Watkins, Gibson’s lawyer, told the outlet that sharing the videos could be a violation of the state’s revenge porn law, which is a Class 1 misdemeanor.

“We are working closely with state and federal law enforcement,” Watkins said.

Susanna Gibson will face her Republican opponent, David Owen, in a November 7 election.
