Why social media is turning blue for Sudan?

Thousands are taking part in a campaign to show solidarity with protesters in Sudan. The blue wave started in honour of Mohamed Mattar – a victim of Sudan’s brutal military crackdown whose favorite color was blue.

He was reportedly killed trying to protect two women as security forces violently raided the camp of peaceful protesters on June 3.

An internet blackout is making it hard to get word out about killings.
