Winter is Coming: Get Ready for New Blu-ray Releases from Crunchyroll, Featuring The Apothecary Diaries and More!

Crunchyroll is ringing in 2025 in a big way, announcing today that the highly anticipated The Apothecary Diaries Season 1 Part 1 will be released on Blu-ray™ on January 28. Packed with exciting special features, fans of the series can look forward to a collection of 12 mini-episodes featuring fan-favorite characters Maomao and Jinshi, which will be subtitled for the very first time.

For those wanting to cuddle up with a great romance this winter, the Crunchyroll Anime Awards winner for Best Romance Anime Horimiya: The Missing Pieces will have its Blu-ray and DVD combo set to debut on January 21, 2025. The heartwarming collection rounds out the love story of Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura with new episodic adventures, plus several exclusive physical character art cards designed by the character designer and chief animation director, Haruko Iizuka.

In addition to these, Crunchyroll will be releasing Dead Mount Death Play Part 2, The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic, and Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I’m Not the Demon Lord, all of which are slated for a January Blu-ray release.

The Apothecary Diaries – Season 1 Part 1

It tells the story of a young girl named Maomao, who is sold to work in the emperor’s palace. No ordinary serving girl, every time an imperial heir falls ill, she is compelled to take treatment into her own hands, and with that, she catches the eye of Jinshi, an enchanting palace official who acknowledges her merits. Skilled in medicine, Maomao will stop at nothing, using her expertise to unravel mysteries of medicine and disclose secrets of the royal court.
