Woman Says Discovering Her Husband’s Alleged Affair Led to a Mental Hospital Visit, a Bloody Shove, Four Nights in Jail and a Criminal Charge

A woman who posts on TikTok as Anna Grace says she was taken to a mental hospital, shoved to the ground by her husband and jailed for four nights after a confrontation at the house she still legally shared with him. She described the events in a video titled “STORYTIME ON GETTING ARRESTED AFTER FINDING MY HUSBAND HAVING AN AFFAIR.”

“The day that so many of you guys have been waiting for has finally come,” she said in the video. “Here is the complete story time of the day that I got arrested. There was so much that I wasn’t allowed to say while we were still together. So buckle up, because it’s a crazy story.”

Grace said the events happened March 13. At that point, she said, she had been living in an apartment for about two weeks.

“Now, if you know anything about the law, you know that me and him were still legally married,” she said. “So that is still legally my house, even though I’m not living there.”

She said her belongings were still at the house and the couple planned to sell it and split the profits. That day, she said, she texted her husband that she was coming to get her piano, her wedding ring, and other things she needed.

“He basically told me that I could not come to the house, that he would call the police on me,” she said. “And I was like, okay, whatever. Call the police. It’s also my property, in my house.”

When she pulled into the driveway, Grace said, her husband stood in front of her car to block it as she drove very slowly. She said he later told a police officer she had tried to run him over.

“Police officer believes him immediately. Doesn’t really ask any questions,” she said.

She said the officer told her to leave or he would make her.

“I tell the police officer, no, I actually don’t need to leave. This is my property, my house. I could be here if I want to,” she said. “No, I don’t care if I’ve been staying somewhere else for a few weeks. This is still my house. I built this house with my hands.”

Grace said she noticed an unfamiliar car in the driveway with a sticker from the high school her husband attended.

“I looked at him, and I said, if that is a girl in there from your high school, I swear on my day,” she said. She said it was her day with the couple’s son, Nolan, and that they had not yet been to court.

Grace said her husband showed officers text messages in which she had discussed severe postpartum depression.

“He pulled up some text of me saying some questionable things, if you know what I mean,” she said. “I’m not about my son, but about myself. I didn’t want to be here.”

She said officers asked whether she still had those thoughts and whether she was OK. “I tell them that I do have some thoughts still,” she said. “I’m only about five months postpartum, but I’m okay, and I’m not ever gonna act on any of them.”

According to Grace, officers told her, “Well, we’re taking you to the mental hospital. If you do not comply, then we’re gonna cuff you and take you that way.”

“I said, is there seriously nothing I can do? Like, you’re gonna cuff me if I don’t come with you?” she said. She said officers told her yes, so she went with them. “My husband got what he wanted at that point. He got me to leave.”

Grace said police took her to the mental hospital. A doctor there moved her ahead of about 10 other patients and released her immediately, she said.

Her mother picked her up. Her father told her by phone not to go back to the house, but her car was still there.

“I should have listened, um, for sure,” she said. “I was kind of glad that I went back, though, because that’s when I figured out who was in the house with my baby.”

When she returned, Grace said, her husband was gone, and her car was locked. She knocked on the door and windows, but no one let her in. Then she saw her husband’s female best friend holding her baby.

“She gave me the dirtiest look,” Grace said. She said the woman walked away and slammed a bedroom door on the far side of the house.

“That’s when I ended up breaking a window to get into my own house to get my car keys,” she said.

Grace said she went into the master bedroom and picked up her son.

“You’re not babysitting my child,” she said. “Of all people he could have chose from his high school, he chose her. Someone I would never want alone with my kid. And as a mom, I have the full and utter right to make that decision.”

She said the woman called her husband and hid in a closet. “I didn’t do anything to her. I didn’t mess with her. I walked out with my baby,” Grace said.

She said her husband sped down the driveway and tried to pull Nolan from her arms as the baby cried and screamed.

“I’m telling him, calm down. Stop, please,” she said. “Stop, like, think rationally enough to calm the h*** down so you don’t traumatize our five-month-old.”

Grace said she handed the baby to her mother and told her, “Go lock yourself in the car.”

“My ex-husband was acting so irrational and so crazy and angry,” she said. “I was just scared for both of our lives.”

She said her mother was slow to get to the car because she was screaming at her husband about the affair. Grace said her husband then grabbed her from behind and shoved her. She described him as 5 feet, 11 inches tall and 200 pounds.

“He’s a big dude, I’m a small girl. I flew,” she said.

Grace said the fall knocked her out. She said she suffered a minor concussion, sprained her wrist, and needed seven stitches in her knee after rocks were driven into it. She wore a wrist brace for three weeks, she said.

Her husband had called police again to report that she broke into the house, Grace said. She said she walked up to the officers, bloody, and was told, “We’ve already dealt with your a** today. Go stand by the car.”

“And I said, ‘You’re not even gonna ask why? I’m all bloody,” she said. She said the response was, “Nope. You probably deserve it. We told you not to come back.”

“They actually didn’t care if he had pushed me or if he had put his hands on me,” she said. “Regardless, they were arresting me and not him.”

Grace said officers took many pictures of her leg and handcuffed her forcefully on the hood of a car, even though she was not trying to run. As she was driven away, she said she saw an officer hand her baby back to her husband.

“I see him and his girl best friend walking back into the house all happy together,” she said.

She said her husband recorded the arrest. “I was, like, fully rage. I was like, you getting this s***? This is some good s***. You getting this? You getting this?” she said. “He still hasn’t sent me that video. I’d like that video.”

She said she told the best friend, “I hope you are ready for this life, because he’s abusive, and you see what he did to me, right?”

At the jail, Grace said she was booked, had a seizure, and was taken to a hospital, passing out on the way. She said doctors argued with officers there.

“The doctors are saying, ‘Why is this girl arrested?” she said. “They’re like, how is she getting arrested for breaking into her own home?”

She said officers told the doctors, “Do your job,” and, “I’m going to sue you if you don’t do your job. Stitch her knee up so we can take her to jail.” She said the doctors kept her as long as they could.

Back in jail, Grace said, her knee became so infected she almost lost her leg. She said the antibiotics made her vomit and pass out.

“Anytime it would ooze and bleed, I would tell the guards, and they wouldn’t do anything. They didn’t care,” she said. “Jail is a very, very nasty place.”

Grace said she spent four nights in jail before her father bailed her out.

“And still to this day, I have a charge on me,” she said. “That’s justice.”

She said that after her release, her husband told people she was crazy and kept their son from her for seven weeks, saying she was not mentally stable enough to see him.

I’d have to start a podcast to tell yall all of this. It’s crazy how so many ppl believed him that I wasn’t stable to see my baby. He strategically got me to look crazy. After he did something wrong. I patiently waited for the judicial injustice system to help me see my baby again. But they failed me in so many ways.
