As part of an ongoing commitment to amplify Black stories, culture and community beyond just the 28 days of February, Disney+ is continuing its #BlackHistoryAlways content with its interview series Disney+ Voices in which Black creatives connect for an open conversation about their process and passions through the lens of the Black experience.
In the latest episode, the iconic Yvette Nicole Brown talks with emerging actress Monique Green about working together on Disney+’s Big Shot, the importance of respectful and authentic representation of diverse Black women, the value of mentorship and uplifting young multicultural talent in the industry, and more.

ABOUT BIG SHOT:
After getting ousted from the NCAA, a men’s basketball coach is given a chance for redemption with a coaching position at an elite private high school. He soon learns that the teenage players require empathy and vulnerability – foreign concepts for the stoic Coach Korn (John Stamos). By learning how to connect with his players, Marvyn starts to grow into the person he’s always hoped to be. The players learn to take themselves more seriously, finding their footing both on and off the court.
