Disney Studios is preparing a pretty exciting and wide-ranging slate of films and TV offerings through 2025 across its powerhouse franchises: Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios, and Disney proper. From superhero epics to classic reimaginings and original tales, 2025 is shaping up to be another monumental year for the entertainment behemoth. Here’s a breakdown of what’s hitting in 2025:
January
YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN (Marvel / Disney+ – January 29, 2025)
The year starts with a new Spider-Man series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, on Disney+. A follow-up from what happened in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the whole story of the multiverse, this series follows Peter Parker through his whole new life after heroic events and a balance between a teenager and a superhero. The fans can expect a mix of both, humor and emotional moments, and of course, action.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD (Marvel / Theatrical – February 14, 2025)
This Valentine’s Day is the day Marvel releases Captain America: Brave New World into theaters. Picking up literally from where The Falcon and the Winter Soldier left off, Anthony Mackie stars as Sam Wilson in this new era for Captain America. Expect a high-octane film that follows Sam into the mantle of the new Captain America, an exploration of identity, responsibility, and legacy. More than ever, the stakes are higher in this film, which will be pivotal to the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
WIN OR LOSE (Pixar / Disney+ – February 19, 2025)
From Pixar, Win or Lose is a brand-new animated series coming straight to Disney+. It’s set in a high school where, in the lead-up to their softball team’s championship game, each episode focuses on a different character. A very charming look at friendship and competition, even more so at personal growth – a promise of some emotional weight from Pixar, stunning animation, no less.

DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN (Marvel / Disney+ – March 4, 2025)
After a long wait, Daredevil: Born Again will finally be launched on Disney+ this early March. Charlie Cox is reprising his role as Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer who acts as Daredevil. The series shall explain in full detail the struggle Matt experiences in living a dual life and fighting a powerful new threat in Hell’s Kitchen. As the show is a spiritual successor to the hit Netflix series, fans should be excited for an even darker and more grounded take on the genre of superheroes, full of gripping action and complex characters.
SNOW WHITE (Disney / Theatrical – March 21, 2025)
Disney revisits a classic tale of cartoon magic as it reimagines Snow White into a live-action film directed by Marc Webb, with Rachel Zegler playing the lead of Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. This will probably present new twists in the classic fairy tale, taking into consideration modern sensibilities, yet still retaining the magic of the first. One will enjoy great visuals, great musical performances, and a story that is far more detailed with regards to Snow White.

THE AMATEUR (20th Century / Theatrical – April 11, 2025)
A gripping drama from 20th Century Studios, The Amateur tells the story of a brilliant young athlete struggling through a cutthroat professional sports world and into the crosshairs of overwhelming personal and social demands. Resilience, ambition, and the high price of success are intertwined in this compelling drama that would speak to every soul striving for greatness.
ANDOR SEASON 2 (Lucasfilm / Disney+ – April 22, 2025)
Off the back of its acclaimed first season, Andor‘s highly anticipated season two will finally hit Disney+ this April. The new season of Cassian Andor’s story continues directly into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The series will continue to mine deep into the subtext of the Rise of the Rebellion against the Empire with its trademark gritty storytelling and complex political intrigue. With Tony Gilroy still holding the reins as showrunner, fans can really look forward to some super-intense, character-driven storylines.

THUNDERBOLTS (Marvel / Theatrical – May 2, 2025)
Marvel’s Thunderbolts assembles a team of morally ambiguous anti-heroes charged with pulling off a job that no one else will. With characters in the mold of Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), and Red Guardian (David Harbour) this action-ensemble adventure into gray areas between good and bad will set the stage for some explosive friction inside the MCU.
LILO & STITCH (Disney / Theatrical – May 23, 2025)
The adorable alien experiment Stitch is back in this live-action reboot of Lilo & Stitch. This time around, it’s directed by Dean Fleischer-Camp and starring newcomer Maia Kealoha as Lilo in a live-action/CGI hybrid. The new take on the 2002 animated classic is going to retain all of the heart and humor of that film while continuing to explore family, acceptance, and the bond between a girl and her mischievous extraterrestrial companion.

ELIO (Pixar / Theatrical – June 13, 2025)
Pixar’s Elio introduces audiences to an imaginative young boy named Elio, who gets transported across the galaxy as an ambassador for Earth. Mixing humor, adventure, and heart, Elio delves into his search for identity, belonging, and the infinity of the universe. The stunning animation from Pixar coupled with inventive storytelling makes this space-faring journey not to be forgotten.
IRONHEART (Marvel / Disney+ – June 24, 2025)
Following her introduction in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Dominique Thorne will star as Riri Williams in the new Disney+ series Ironheart. A genius inventor and maker of the armor known as Ironheart, Riri will find herself caught between her personal life and the challenges she must undertake as a hero in a world filled with powerful forces. Look for some intense technology, heart, and action.
THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS (Marvel / Theatrical – July 25, 2025)
A July release brings audiences the long-anticipated Fantastic Four into the MCU for the first time. Starring a yet-to-be-named actor Reed Richards, this movie follows Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm through their transformation into the iconic superhero team. This is going to detail their origins and where they fit into the growing Marvel Universe. With the sure hand of director Matt Shakman-well known and loved for WandaVision-at the helm, anticipation has never been stronger for this many-years-overdue reboot of the franchise.
August
EYES OF WAKANDA (Marvel / Disney+ – August 6, 2025)
The new Marvel series is a technological exploration of Wakanda. Secrets of the nation’s advanced tech, Black Panther legacy, and the politics that shape the world’s view on it are dug up. Eyes of Wakanda promises to take a deeper insight into the world of Black Panther, highlighting the characters of Wakanda and some really interesting themes of power, responsibility, and cultural preservation.
FREAKIER FRIDAY (Disney / Theatrical – August 8, 2025)
This movie is yet another version of the Freaky Friday idea, in which mother and daughter are switched around, with amusingly chaotic results. To be expected: loads of laughter and a heartwarming story of understanding and bonding across generational divides. With its new cast and updated twist, Freakier Friday is set to be a fun summer hit.
October
MARVEL ZOMBIES (Marvel / Disney+ – October 3, 2025)
This October, Marvel Zombies will tackle an even darker, different reality of the MCU where some of your favorite Marvel heroes and villains have become zombies. The animated series follows a group of surviving heroes through a world overrun by the undead, mixing horror, action, and irreverent humor in a way that only Marvel can.
TRON: ARES (Disney / Theatrical – October 10, 2025)
This new film, entitled Tron: Ares, returns to the digital frontier of the Tron franchise. New characters and ideas come to this iconic cyberpunk world to continue the grand ideas of its predecessors. The evolution of this franchise, with new technologies and storytelling, should be quite exciting for the fans of the original films and Tron: Legacy.
November
PREDATOR: BADLANDS (20th Century / Theatrical – November 7, 2025)
Predator: Badlands is taking the deathly extraterrestrial hunters to the brutal deserts of the American Southwest. Expect high-stakes survival, blistering action, and a new breed of Predator that will push our heroes to their limits in this adrenaline-pumping survival horror flick.
ZOOTOPIA 2 (Disney / Theatrical – November 26, 2025)
The long-awaited sequel to Zootopia arrives in November, once again following the adventures of bunny cop Judy Hopps and fox con artist Nick Wilde. With a new mystery to solve and more of the vibrant world of Zootopia to explore, Zootopia 2 will continue to combine social commentary, wit, and family-friendly fun in a way that only Disney can deliver.
December
WONDER MAN (Marvel / Disney+ – December 2025)
Marvel’s Wonder Man brings a unique and lesser-known superhero to the forefront. Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, the series will explore his journey from corporate tycoon to superhero with a complex past. Combining elements of comedy, action, and drama, Wonder Man promises to be one of Marvel’s most innovative shows.
AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH (20th Century / Theatrical – December 19, 2025)
The Avatar franchise continues its journey with Fire and Ash, a new chapter in the epic saga of Pandora. This film will follow new and familiar characters as they face challenges both from within their own ranks and from the increasingly volatile world around them. With James Cameron returning as director, expect groundbreaking visual effects and immersive world-building as the Avatar universe expands.

DELIVER ME FROM NOWHERE (20th Century / Theatrical)
A gripping drama that delves into the emotional and psychological challenges of isolation and the human condition, Deliver Me From Nowhere promises to be a deeply moving cinematic experience.
UNTITLED LILY JAMES PROJECT (20th Century / Hulu)
Lily James stars in an untitled project that promises to be a mix of drama and intrigue, with the actress exploring new territory in this mystery-filled series for Hulu.
If anything is to be said for Disney’s 2025 slate, it’s that Disney really has their fingers in a number of pies regarding diversity in content, franchise extensions, and new, original material. From MCU fans to Pixar animation enthusiasts, and even the eternal possibility of live-action Disney remakes, 2025 truly does have it all. As Disney continues to forge forward with innovative ideas along multiple mediums, the coming year is shaping up to be a wild ride for moviegoers and streamers alike.
