‪Marvel Comics Legend Stan Lee has passed away at the age of 95‬

Photo Courtesy of Twitter/@ComplexUK Legendary comic book writer and editor Stan Lee has passed away at the age of 95, at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, TMZ reported the tragedy. Born Stanley Martin Lieber in 1922, he was best known as the writer, editor and publisher of Marvel Comics.He created fictional characters including Spider-Man, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Black Panther, the X-Men, and, with the addition of co-writer Larry Lieber, the characters Ant-Man, Iron Man and Thor. In addition, he challenged the comics industry’s censorship organization, the Comics Code Authority, indirectly leading to it updating its policies. Lee subsequently led the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation. He was inducted into the comic book industry’s Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1995. Lee received a National Medal of Arts in 2008. He was also known for making cameo appearances in film adaptations of Marvel comics.
