Bloodhound Q50, the 22-year-old Chicago drill rapper also known as Q50 on social media, was murdered after being shot early Sunday morning, police said.

According to police, the man was sitting in the driver’s seat of his car in the 4200 block of South Wentworth Avenue in the Fuller Park neighborhood when two vehicles pulled up next to him, and individuals from both vehicles opened fire on him. The victim was shot in his chest and shoulder and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Based on a preliminary investigation, at least six men opened fire and discharged more than 50 rounds during the attack. Police said the getaway vehicles were a black Acura sedan and a silver Honda Accord that drove onto the Dan Ryan Expressway. According to the police, the time of the murder could be either just before 4 a.m. or somewhere during the latter part of the morning.

The identity of the victim is still unknown; also, a medical examiner’s report has not yet been made public. In one of the social media posts related to the incident, there is audio of an officer reporting about the murder, mentioning the given name of the rapper Mikquale Cooper with his birthdate listed as August 6, 2004. A picture attributed to the rapper’s mother and a video featuring a Tesla with shell casings around it have also been posted on social media.

So far, there have been no arrests in connection with the murder. Police said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with information about the crime to contact them.

Cooper, aka Bloodhound Q50, was making his name in the Chicago drill community. He released his new album titled “Get Back or Die Trying” on his 22nd birthday last month. The album featured Bloodhound Lil Jeff, who was killed last year.

This year, he performed at the Rolling Loud festival in Orlando, where they paid their respects to the late artist. DJ Vlad interviewed him last year and also paid his respects. In his X post, he said Q50 was the most media-trained young artist he’d talked to.

Rumors in August 2025 that the rapper was murdered in St. Louis turned out to be false, as he posted on social media saying that he was unharmed.

Q50’s murder takes place at a time when violence among young people is rising in Chicago, with a teen having been recently murdered at a downtown skate park.
