On Saturday night, Shakira shocked Madrid by bringing out guest performer Dua Lipa, and together they performed an acoustic version of the ballad “Antología,” which Shakira wrote three decades ago.
It was the eighth of 12 shows in Shakira’s residency at Macondo Park, temporarily erected in southern Madrid, which closes the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. Amazon Music live-streamed the concert to a global audience.
During the performance, 49-year-old Shakira introduced 31-year-old Lipa as a “diosa,” the Spanish word for goddess. Before the duet, Shakira officially called herself a fan of Lipa. She told the audience the song mattered to both of them, as Lipa had already performed it in Spanish at her Bogotá concert in 2025.
An acoustic version highlighted their voices and harmonies, connecting two generations of pop stars. This song, “Antología,” appeared in 1995 on Shakira’s album Pies Descalzos, the same year Lipa was born.
This song was performed on November 28, 2025, at Estadio El Campín in Bogotá, during Lipa’s Radical Optimism Tour, sung in Spanish as the local tribute on that night. This was one of the tour’s traditions: in every city, they perform a song by a regional favorite artist; in Buenos Aires, they performed “De Música Ligera” by Soda Stereo, and in Santiago, Chile, they performed “Tu Falta de Querer” by Mon Laferte.
Before the performance, Lipa told the audience in Spanish that the song was by an artist who inspires her. Thousands sang together, and clips soon went online.
Shakira, a native of Barranquilla, wrote this song while she lived in Bogotá. The next day she reposted the clip and said on Instagram, “I am so touched to hear my song in Dua’s voice.” She noted that she wrote this song in that same city many years ago. She described the collaboration as the girl from London and the girl from Barranquilla.
Lipa commented in Spanish, saying it was “a beautiful night” and that she loved singing the song.
Lipa is not the first guest to share “Antología” with Shakira in Madrid. It happened during the third performance of the residency, when Italian singer Laura Pausini, 52, joined her. “I’m here as a fan, I always have been,” Pausini said to the audience.
The residency will run from September 18 to October 12. At Iberdrola Music grounds in Madrid’s Villaverde district, 11 at Macondo Park is a temporary site for an event celebrating literature and music. Named for the fictional town in Gabriel García Márquez’s “One Hundred Years of Solitude,” the venue expects more than 600,000 fans. The tour also marks Shakira’s return to Spanish stages after eight years.
The broader tour has drawn more than 6 million concertgoers. Guinness World Records named it the highest-grossing tour ever by a Latin artist, while it was named the tour of the year at the 2026 American Music Awards.
On Saturday night, the concert Amazon Music Presents: Shakira Live From Madrid marked her first full concert live-streamed to the whole world. Fans could see it for free on the Amazon Music app, Prime Video, Fire TV and Twitch, starting at 8:45 p.m. local time. The announcement made Shakira eager to share this special evening with fans worldwide.
Clips from the duet soon went across social media, celebrating their collaboration. Shakira still has four Madrid shows on Oct. 4, 9, 10, and 11.
