Prime Video Releases Official Teaser for Season Two of The Summer I Turned Pretty

Prime Video Releases Official Teaser for Season Two of The Summer I Turned Pretty

The Summer I Turned Pretty on Prime Video begins a Taylor Swift tradition with its melancholy Season 2 teaser trailer.

The new footage from the show’s upcoming season, like the Season 1 trailer, is perfectly accompanied by another Taylor Swift song — “august,” from her eighth album folklore.

Many pages from the second book, It’s Not Summer Without You, are literally leaping off the page to the big screen in the second season, as will fans of Jenny Han’s The Summer I Turned Pretty book trilogy, on which the show is based.

In particular, a fleeting glimpse of Belly’s Prom night with Christopher Briney’s Conrad adds to the season’s first-look images. Book readers know exactly how that ends.

Jeremiah’s longing gaze toward Lola Tung’s Belly suggests that this love triangle is far from over. Surprisingly, the trailer’s only spoken line comes from Gavin Casalegno, when Jeremiah tells her and his brother, “We get it. “You guys are into each other,” Belly says when she wears the infinity necklace from Season 1.

“Belly used to count down the days until she could return to Cousins Beach,” according to the Season 2 synopsis of The Summer I Turned Pretty, “but with Conrad and Jeremiah fighting over her heart and the return of Susannah’s cancer, she’s not sure summer will ever be the same.”

“When an unexpected visitor threatens the future of Susannah’s beloved house, Belly has to rally the gang to come together—and to decide once and for all where her heart lies.”

The teaser trailer for The Summer I Turned Pretty also alluded to deeper stories for Taylor, Belly’s best friend, and her brother Steven because Rain Spencer and Sean Kaufman are returning as series regulars.

David Iacono returns as a recurring guest as Cam Cameron, with Kyra Sedgwick and Elsie Fisher also appearing in recurring roles. In addition, Jackie Chung and Rachel Blanchard will appear.

Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka star in Season 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty. Executive producers include Han, Kucserka, Karen Rosenfelt, and Gabrielle Stanton, as well as Hope Hartman, Mads Hansen, and Paul Lee for wiip. The show is a collaboration between Amazon Studios and wiip.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Friday, July 14, with three episodes. New episodes will be released on a weekly basis until the season finale on August 18.
