A Black Lady Sketch Show: Skye Townsend Interview

Needless to say this has been an intense and emotional week for black people. If you need a laugh to lift your spirits, well I have news.

The return of the HBO hit show A Black Lady Sketch Show from creator, writer, and showrunner Robin Thede is back beginning Friday, April 23, with some new and familiar faces and a host of guest stars that you will have to watch to see.

A Black Lady Sketch Show is a sketch comedy show featuring an all-Black cast of female comedians including Robin Thede, Gabrielle Dennis, Ashley Nicole Black, with Skye Townsend & Laci Mosley joining the cast in season 2.

We recently spoke to Skye Townsend who has been singing and auditioning since the age of 17, now 27 Skye talked about what she has learned in the pursuit of her dreams and finally seeing them realized. Skye was a fan of ABLSS before getting the opportunity to audition and ultimately land the job. Skye says this season will be different, due in large part to creator Robin Thede listening and making necessary changes.

And for the fans of Skye’s podcast “Unpack N’ Bounce Back” the wait is almost over, as it returns May 3rd.

No stranger to a Beyoncé Impersonation, Skye blessed us with one last laugh before we wrapped the interview.
