The trailer for Babygirl, an erotic thriller set to release soon, has just been made public. The film stars Nicole Kidman as Romy, a high-powered corporate executive who bets both her work and family life on her passionate love for a far younger intern. Halina Reijn, in her writing and directing, explores the nuances of power dynamics, age-gap romances, and the consequences of mingling personal and corporate interests through Babygirl.
The trailer opens with Romy (Nicole Kidman) spotting a young man calming a dog on the street, a seemingly innocuous encounter, the foreshadowing of unweaving Romy’s carefully constructed life. The audiences get introduced to Romy’s high-stakes world, where the work-hectic tension she finds herself embroiled in happens to balance between her career and family with beauty appointments aimed at preserving her image. Only to later learn that the young man from the street, Samuel, happens to be one of the new interns at her company; their relationship quickly becomes sexual and then spins into a master vs. slave dynamic wherein Romy surrenders herself to Samuel.
The Babygirl trailer is set against a festive backdrop. It is Christmas, and the film, once again, is adorned with images of the holiday in its score, with the Christmas version of bells used as a recurring motif. When Romy enters her cubicle, there is an enormous Christmas tree with all the trimmings encasing the frame, helping to bolster the atmosphere of celebration within the scenes. The Christmas spirit of the film coincides neatly with its Christmastime release, thus adding a great contrast to the film’s eroticism with its possibly merry-spirited neighborhood.
It has deeper views about the age-gap relationship at the heart of the tale. Quite interestingly, this is not the first time this year we have seen Kidman act a character opposite a younger guy-she starred in A Family Affair, in which her character is in love with a younger Zac Efron. Whored, this subject would take a much darker, far more sexually toned dialect compared with other Kidman’s previous work.
Nicole Kidman has already received public acclaim for her performance as Romy, with accolades such as Best Actress from the Venice Film Festival to help seal her honor. In the trailer, Kidman’s performance becomes unequaled in showcasing Romy’s cross-conflicted emotional dynamics—her deception, her curiosity, her excitement, and the corrosion of her moral compass with increasing depth into the affair. Babygirl is at 93% on Rotten Tomatoes for early ratings, and already this film promises to be one of the hottest films of the year.
The Babygirl film is due for theatrical release on December 25th, 2024, featuring a large array of actors such as Harris Dickinson, Antonio Banderas, Sophie Wilde, Esther McGregor, Vaughan Reilly, Victor Slezak, and Leslie Silva.

Calling the Kidman award season sweep rn 🙌👑🤍
The Nicole Kidman twisted psychosexual Christmas movie cinematic universe expanding is the best news ever. There should be a new Nicole Kidman twisted psychosexual Christmas movie every Christmas. As a Jew, this will make December 25 be a real holiday finally
And a very Merry Christmas to me and the rest of the freaks
And Harris Dickinson, who plays Babygirl, he gave everything.
Look, Nicole has always been great, but the roles she’s taken and work she’s done in the last 10 years has been PEAK.
This does look good, but I’m afraid it will embolden even more young men who already behave like this and who think all women want THIS. The last guy I rejected was much younger than me and thought I would enjoy or be intrigued by this behavior.
I’m already squirming, blushing and feeling scandalised!! Oh, I absolutely cannot wait!
One of the year’s best films.
are you lost babygirl?
