ALICIA KEYS AND SARA BAREILLES TO PERFORM SPECIAL DUET FOR CITY OF HOPE’S 2019 SPIRIT OF LIFE GALA HONORING EPIC RECORDS CHAIRMAN AND CEO SYLVIA RHONE

Today, City of Hope, a world-renowned independent research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases, announced the spectacular line-up of talent confirmed to take the stage at its Music, Film and Entertainment Industry Group’s 2019 Spirit of Life® Gala, which will honor Epic Records chairman and CEO, Sylvia Rhone.  Award-winning recording artists Alicia Keys and Sara Bareilles will join together for a one-of-a-kind duet performance in honor of Rhone. Yolanda Adams will also perform at the event, while Eric H. Holder Jr., 82nd attorney general of the United States will present Rhone with the prestigious award. The event will feature a very special surprise performance from one of Rhone’s most iconic groups. The gala will take place on Thursday, Oct. 10 at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

Alicia Keys is a modern-day Renaissance woman — a 15-time Grammy Award-winning artist/songwriter/musician/producer, an accomplished actress, a New York Times bestselling author, a film/television/Broadway producer, an entrepreneur and a powerful force in the world of activism. Since the release of her monumental 2001 debut album, “Songs in A minor,” Keys has sold over 40 million records and built an unparalleled repertoire of hits and accomplishments. Keys resides in the New York City area with her husband, producer/visionary and entrepreneur Swizz Beatz, and their children.

Eric Holder advises clients on complex investigations and litigation matters, including those that are international in scope and involve significant regulatory enforcement issues and substantial reputational concerns. Before his service as attorney general, Mr. Holder maintained a wide-ranging investigations and litigation practice at Covington. Mr. Holder served as attorney general from February 2009 to April 2015. As the third longest-serving attorney general in U.S. history and the first African American to hold that office, Holder is an internationally recognized leader across a broad range of regulatory enforcement, criminal justice and national security issues. In 2014, TIME magazine named Mr. Holder to its list of 100 Most Influential People, noting that he had “worked tirelessly to ensure equal justice.”
