Andrew Lester Charged For Shooting 16-Year-Old Ralph Yarl

Andrew Lester, 85, has been identified as the man who shot Ralph Yarl multiple times.

Ralph Yarl was reportedly shot in the head and leg by Lester for ringing his doorbell. Yarl went to Lester’s home by mistake after going to the wrong address to pick up his younger siblings.

After receiving treatment for his injuries last week, Ralph Yarl got discharged from the hospital earlier today. His family says that he is recuperating at home right now.

After the occurrence last week, Lester got brought into police custody but got released because of the protocol.

Andrew Lester got charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action in the shooting death of Ralph Yarl, 16, according to Clay County Prosecuting Attorney Zachary Thompson. A warrant got issued for his arrest.

At the press conference, Thompson said that there is no video and no evidence that Yarl and the suspect talked to each other. The DA believes race played a role in this shooting.

The shooter, Andrew Lester, is not currently being held by the police.
