Netflix announced that Chad Michael Murray, Rachael Harris, and Sean Teale joined Brooke Shields and Miranda Cosgrove in Netflix’s most upcoming romantic comedy, Mother of the Bride, alongside Wilson Cruz and Michael McDonald.
In February, it got announced that Shields and Cosgrove would star alongside Benjamin Bratt in the movie.
Lana, played by Shields and written by Robin Bernheim (The Princess Switch), is a mother who finds out her daughter Emma, played by Cosgrove, is getting married in a month on an island. The film will get directed by Mark Waters (He’s All That, Mean Girls). Even more shocking, Lana learns that Emma is getting married to RJ (Teale), the son of Will (Bratt), the man who broke her heart years ago.
Last week, the cast gathered for the first table read, and Harris, Teale, Bratt, Shields, and Cosgrove took a group picture.
Netflix has yet to announce a Mother of the Bride release date, although production is officially underway.
Bernheim, Amanda Phillips, Jimmy Townsend, and Galen Fletcher boarded Mother of the Bride as executive producers. Additionally, Brad Krevoy serves as a producer.
