Anitta, one of Brazil’s biggest musical talents, set an important precedent this week when she became the first Brazilian singer ever to take the stage at Saturday Night Live (SNL).

At the show, she revealed the premiere performance of her new single titled “Choka Choka.” This song is a sneak peek at her upcoming album, Equilibrivm, scheduled for release on April 16. Anitta collaborated on it with none other than Shakira, once again proving her status as one of the leading figures among Latin female singers.

Equilibrivm is the eighth studio album by Anitta, and one of the most daring projects in the career of this famous artist. It includes two parts, both of which relate to the artist’s dual identity. The first part contains songs sung in Portuguese and featuring Brazilian music styles, including samba, funk, and reggae. The second part features songs in both English and Spanish and is intended to reach an international audience.

As an added treat to viewers, she also presented a preview of her next single titled “Várias Queixas,” which is said to be very relevant in today’s Brazil.
