AOC Says Trump Administration “Will Sell, They Are Selling Out Every Single Person in This Country for a Buck” After Report That a Russian Oligarch Paid for Don Jr.’s Wedding Party

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed the Trump administration for selling out to the American people following allegations that a Russian oligarch was involved in financing some of Donald Trump Jr’s wedding ceremony.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez reacted to the allegations after a question from Pablo Manriquez, a reporter with MeidasTouch Network.

“So, Congresswoman, what do you make of Don Jr.’s wedding being paid for by a Russian oligarch? It’s a news story today in Kobublika,” Manriquez posed to the congresswoman.

“I mean, as we’ve seen, these guys are in the pocket of everyone but the American people,” Ocasio-Cortez responded. “It’s profoundly disturbing, and I said it two years ago, and I’m saying it again.”

According to ProPublica, Umar Kremlev, president of the International Boxing Association, paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund a wedding celebration for Trump Jr. and his fiancé, Bettina Anderson, in the Bahamas. The ceremony expenses included renting a private island for $100,000 per day and $70,000 for fireworks, according to the report.

Umar Kremlev is linked to the Russian oil firm Gazprom and has recently been honored by President Vladimir Putin. These include the Order of Friendship.

Trump Jr. and his wife clarified that Umar Kremlev, their “dear friend,” organized the celebrations as a generous gift. The couple added that they were already married in private before the ceremony.
