Appalachian TikToker Hears Voices, Whistling and Window Tapping After Breaking a Rule Locals Know Too Well

The nighttime adventure of an Appalachian lady who kept her curtains open after dusk turned into a viral TikTok video when she realized her mistake and suddenly heard unusual sounds.

In the 62-second video, the lady named Allie Cheyenne is seen wearing a bonnet as she listens to strange sounds, including voices, whistles, and knocks on her window.

“Do y’all see anything? Let me know,” Cheyenne states in the video. “No, stop. Because I swear, as soon as I stopped recording, I heard something tapping on the window.”

She then goes around the house until she reaches the back.

“And now I’ve came to the back door, and it is wide open,” she says. “What the f–k? So much for sleeping tonight, I guess.”

As seen in the video, keeping curtains open after nightfall is considered a common rule violation in the Appalachian area. The video gained popularity due to the viewers’ reactions to the lady’s response to the weird sounds.

“I know you all hear that,” Cheyenne adds at some point in the recording. “Just kidding. I’m not looking out there.”
