On Tuesday, Apple TV+ unveiled the trailer for Brothers, starring fictional versions of Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
This original comedy premieres on September 23 with its first two episodes, then airs new episodes weekly each Wednesday until November 4, for eight episodes total.
Matthew McConaughey, who won an Oscar, and Woody Harrelson, who was nominated for one, also serve as executive producers. Additionally, the showrunner and the other producer in that capacity is Lee Eisenberg, who has won the Peabody Award and been nominated multiple times for the Emmy.
In Brothers, the deep connection between the two friends is tested after they discover a long-buried secret: they could be brothers! After his daughter’s engagement ends, Woody takes his family to Matthew’s ranch in Austin to help him heal. However, when Matthew’s mother, Ma Mac (played by Holland Taylor), unwittingly uncovers the hundred-year-old secret, all hell breaks loose!
While Woody stirs up trouble on Matthew’s ranch to uncover the truth, Matthew is dealing with his own situation: he might be running for Texas governor soon. As a result, what we get is an amusing story about friendship, family, celebrity, and the blur between truth and fiction.
The guest actors include Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton, Noah Carganilla, Highdee Kuan, and Oona Yaffe.
Paramount Television Studios made Brothers for Apple TV+. Besides Eisenberg, McConaughey, and Harrelson, other executive producers are Natalie Sandy, David West Read, Trish Hofmann, Bill Bost, Jason Winer, David Finkel, Brett Baer, and Jeremy Plager. Trent O’Donnell directs several episodes, among which is the pilot.
