Ashley Ra-Nae Rison: Former New Miami High School Softball Coach Faces 8 Years In Prison For Having Sex With 17-Year-Old Student

A Hamilton woman and former New Miami coach have pleaded guilty to having sex with a teenage student while coaching.

Ashley Ra-Nae Rison, 31, was charged in January with eight counts of sexual assault and tampering with evidence, all felony counts, and one count of supplying alcohol to a minor, one count light.

At Butler County Circuit Court on Tuesday, Rison pleaded guilty to sexual assault, one third-degree felony, and two counts of gross sexual imposition, both fourth-degree felonies. In exchange for a guilty plea, the remaining charges were dismissed.

Rison faces a maximum sentence of eight years in prison. She will be designated a Level III sex offender, requiring her to register with the sheriff for the rest of her life.

Judge Dan Haughey fixed the sentence for November 16.

Rison was granted bail after posting 10% of a $10,000 bond. She wears a GPS monitor. Rison resigns as “specialist and coach” effective May 3, 2021, according to Rhonda Parker, Superintendent of the New Miami School District.

According to the Butler County Sheriff’s and District Attorney’s Office, she met a college student and engaged in sexual conduct while in the back seat of a vehicle.

Rison is a former softball coach and assistant teacher at New Miami High School, and the allegation stems from an alleged relationship involving Rison and a 17-year-old softball player, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Butler County Chief.
