A woman shared how dating an athlete changed her understanding of Gisele Bündchen, reviving one of the hottest celebrity breakups in recent years.
“Last year, I started dating a guy who does jiu jitsu for a living. And I immediately understood why Giselle left Tom Brady and started dating her jiu jitsu instructor. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong. I’m just saying after thorough investigation, I get it,” Cattien Le explained.
@cattiiiieeen No I don’t condone cheating and no there isn’t anything from either of them confirming any cheating.
It should be noted that Gisele Bündchen is a Brazilian supermodel, while Joaquim Valente is a martial arts instructor who introduced Bündchen to the sport. The Brazilian star separated from her ex-husband Tom Brady in 2022 after 13 years of marriage.
Bündchen started practicing jiu jitsu in December 2021 after being introduced to the Valente Brothers Academy on the recommendation of a friend. In 2022, she told Dust magazine that she wanted to choose something helpful for her son.
“Initially, I wasn’t even considering it for myself,” the supermodel explained.
The first time Bündchen and Valente were spotted together was in November 2022, during their vacation in Costa Rica, about a month after their divorce had taken effect.
Bündchen denied the speculation in an interview published in May 2023, and the relationship reportedly turned romantic the following month.
The supermodel and her partner have a son born in early 2025. His name has not been revealed yet. She has two other children with Brady, Benjamin, aged 15, and Vivian, aged 12. In addition, on December 1, Bündchen and Valente applied for a marriage license in Miami-Dade County. They listed Surfside, Florida, as their address and December 3 as the wedding date.
The wedding ceremony was private and took place at home, with only family members present.
Valente, who is a co-founder of the Valente Brothers self-defense academy in Miami, moved from Rio de Janeiro. According to the academy’s website, he has trained in jiu jitsu since age 2 and earned a black belt and Professor’s Diploma from Grandmaster Hélio Gracie in 2007. He is also trained in boxing and judo.
