Three people have been killed and another 80 are injured after Army leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan declared emergency rule over the transitional government, according to Reuters. On Monday, acting Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok and his wife, Muna Abdallah, were placed under house arrest and later “kidnapped” at dawn from their Khartoum residence, ABC News reports. The arrests come after a failed coup attempt in September and weeks of rising tensions between Sudan’s civilian and military leaders, The Associated Press reports.
