“Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender” is a brand-new animated film based on the series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. It will be available for watching globally on Paramount+ on Saturday, July 25. The trailer is already out.
The main character, Aang, is the world’s last Airbender, who discovers an ancient power that may help him save his people from extinction. Together with his friends, Aang embarks on a worldwide journey to find the power to disrupt the peaceful life they worked hard to build.
Eric Nam plays Aang, Dave Bautista plays Tagah, Jessica Matten plays Katara, Román Zaragoza plays Sokka, Steven Yeun plays Zuko, and Dionne Quan plays Toph. Freida Pinto, Ke Huy Quan, Taika Waititi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Ronny Chieng, and Ken Jeong star in other roles. The animals’ role in the film is played by Dee Bradley Baker, whose characters are Appa and Momo.
Director Lauren Montgomery is joined by Steve Ahn and William Mata as co-directors of the film. Latifa Ouaou, Maryann Garger, Konietzko, and DiMartino produce it. Tim Hedrick and Christopher Yost wrote the script based on the story by Konietzko, DiMartino, Hedrick, and Kenneth Lin.
San Diego Comic-Con International will host the premiere before the movie becomes available for streaming. The movie panel will take place on Thursday, July 23, from 1 to 2 p.m. in Hall H. It will feature voice cast members and the film’s creators, who will share their experiences creating the film and reveal details about future Avatar projects. Sneak peeks will be included in the discussion.
Fan screening will take place on Friday, July 24, from 7 to 9:20 p.m. in Ballroom 20.
Paramount+ will present the Press Play Arcade at Booth #3529. From Wednesday, July 22, to Sunday, July 26, visitors will be able to play arcade games based on Paramount+ originals. One of them is the Avatar game, titled “Cabbage Cart Madness”. A badge is required.
