Aventura police said they were investigating reports of a possible incident at the mall. They advised people to stay out of the area.

Mall officials said Aventura Mall was being evacuated as a precaution.

“Aventura Mall is being evacuated by the Aventura Police Department as a precaution,” the mall said in a statement. “At this time, police have found no evidence of a shooting.”

Police said they were still investigating Saturday night. They determined a shooting did not take place.

Aventura police said the mall would not reopen Saturday evening, but will reopen Sunday morning as scheduled.

Some people believe the police and Aventura Mall are saying there wasn’t a shooting because since most people go shopping around this time, they don’t want people to be afraid and not go to the mall. Which means sales go down.

This wouldn’t be the first time in this country that people value money more than other people lives.
