The tenacious and determined Verna (Tiffany Haddish) in the film “Back on the Strip” makes the decision to send her son Merlin (Spence Moore), to Las Vegas. Despite his heartbreak, she is committed to helping Merlin fulfill his dream of becoming a successful magician.
Merlin’s life, however, takes a surprising turn when he meets Mr. Big (Wesley Snipes) by chance at a run-down hotel. Mr. Big was the leader of “The Chocolate Chips,” a former all-star troupe of Black male strippers that also included JB Smoove, Faizon Love, Bill Bellamy, and Gary Owen.
This encounter directs Merlin’s attention to a new and unfamiliar area. Merlin is in a race against time to reclaim his girl and help the out-of-shape and out-of-sync “Chips” find their groove again. He will discover along the way that he possesses all of the necessary magic tricks.
The film also stars Raigan Harris and Colleen Camp, as well as a special cameo by Kevin Hart. Chris Spencer is making his directorial debut after co-writing the screenplay with Eric Daniel.
Geno Taylor, Missy Valdez, Wesley Snipes, Tiffany Haddish, Chris Spencer, Eric Daniel, Elie Samaha, Donald Kushner, and Jeru Tillman are among the talented producers.
