Peacock and Sky made a historic statement today, disclosing that famous musician Barbra Streisand has recorded a new song called “Love Will Survive.” The song will serve as the final title for their next series, “The Tattooist of Auschwitz,” and marks Streisand’s first recording for a television series.

“Love Will Survive” is a melancholy song by two-time Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer, Emmy nominee Kara Talve, and Grammy-winner Walter Afanasieff, and will be published globally by Columbia Records on April 25th, just ahead of the series’ global launch on May 2nd. Charlie Midnight, a Grammy and Golden Globe nominee, wrote the lyrics, which emphasize love’s persistence in the face of evil.

Streisand, whose distinguished career spans six decades, lends her legendary vocals to the recording, which is conducted by William Ross and features the esteemed London Symphony Orchestra. Produced by multiple Grammy winners Walter Afanasieff and Peter Asher, the song is a testimonial to the enduring power of love, which is especially poignant given the global rise in antisemitism.

The series “The Tattooist of Auschwitz” depicts the incredible true story of Lali (played by Jonah Hauer-King) and Gita (played by Anna Próchniak), two people who discovered love despite the horrors of the Holocaust. The show, directed by Tali Shalom-Ezer and executive produced by Claire Mundell, delves into themes of love, survival, and the resilience of the human spirit.

Streisand highlighted her wish to honor the memory of the millions who perished during the Holocaust while also delivering a message of hope and perseverance. “Love Will Survive” is an homage to the bravery and tenacity of individuals who have faced terrible hardship.

Claire Mundell, Executive Producer for Synchronicity Films, expressed her sincere appreciation for the opportunity to work with Streisand, highlighting the importance of her contribution to the series. According to her, the song reflects the series’ fundamental message of love’s ability to persevere even under the most difficult circumstances.

“The Tattooist of Auschwitz” is a Peacock and Sky co-production, made in collaboration with Sky Studios and All3Media International. With a superb ensemble that includes Harvey Keitel and Melanie Lynskey, the series will fascinate audiences worldwide with its dramatic narrative and moving soundtrack.
