Bio-exorcism fun awaits! The long-awaited sequel to the cult classic “Beetlejuice” has finally released its second official trailer, and it is promised to be more chaotic than the first.
It confirms the movie’s title as “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” and its September 6th release date. Tim Burton returns behind the camera, with a screenplay by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar based on a story by the duo alongside Seth Grahame-Smith.
New Faces and Familiar Faces
It’s the Deetzes, back again! Catherine O’Hara returns as Delia Deetz, Winona Ryder returns as Lydia Deetz, and joining them this time around is Jenna Ortega, playing Astrid Deetz, Lydia’s hard-hitting teenage daughter.
Michael Keaton returns in all his black-and-white-striped glory as the notorious Beetlejuice, ready to wreak his peculiar brand of pandemonium upon the unsuspecting land of the living. This time around, he is joined by Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, and Willem Dafoe.
A Daughter Unearths Trouble
According to the synopsis of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” “unexpected family tragedy” forces the Deetz family back to their Winter River home. However, their peaceful return is short-lived.
As the trailer rolls out, we see Astrid discover a mysterious model of the town secreted away in the attic. This innocently-looking discovery inadvertently reopens the portal to the afterlife, creating all kinds of trouble within the living world and the Netherworld.
Lydia reflects on the coexistence of the living and the dead as Astrid inadvertently summons Beetlejuice using the forbidden chant. One thing is certain: chaos is coming!
A Blast from the Past
It taps into our nostalgia for the original film. We see flashes of a children’s choir performing Harry Belafonte’s classic “Day-O,” more formally known as “The Banana Boat Song,” a hook from the original film. We get glimpses of the miniature town model made famous in the 1988 classic.
Where to See It All
Catch up on the original “Beetlejuice” before its sequel hits theaters. You can currently stream it on Amazon Prime Video. Otherwise, you can rent or buy the film digitally on Amazon and YouTube.
Get ready to say his name twice. because “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” promises a wild and funny return to the weird, wacky world of the afterlife troublemaker.

I won’t be reacting to the new Beetlejuice 2 trailer because Warner Bros. have be absolute tools lately (didn’t use to be). Looks fun, I worry they showed too much in the trailer. Not like plot but too much of the spectacle.
The plot of Beetlejuice 2 revolving around a throw away gag from the end of the first movie has me wanting to put a gun in mouth.
Obviously Jenna and Winona will be amazing, and Keaton is iconic, but I’m pleased to see Catherine O’Hara back too!
That was so much better than the first trailer. I’m still not sure I’m into giving Hollywood my money for ANOTHER sequel, but maybe.
Is it just me, or did they pretty much reveal the entire movie? If you’re familiar with the first (who isnt?) you can pretty much piece together the plot from these clips. It looks like it takes inspiration from the original story progression.
I’m intentionally avoiding the trailer for that very reason. Anymore, I’ll watch the initial teaser for a movie, but anything after that just gives away way too much
1988 Michel Keaton: “Wanna see me play Batman and Beetlejuice?”
2023 Michael Keaton: “Wanna see me do it again?”
Me and my homeboys won’t be watching
and no one cares!
Even in the preview you can tell the jokes are flat :/ Probably will see it though.
I’ve seen the original Beetlejuice a lot and I honestly don’t even remember what the plot of it was. I’m not saying it was a bad movie, but while I was excited when this was announced I really don’t get the point of another one other than for nostalgia’s sake.
Don’t attack me yall..but they should have kept the other trailer.or teaser….that revealed hardly anything and was really cool..this just gives too much away. Will still go see it for sure but idk..
Definitely agree!!
Sorry, but it just seems like they waited a bit too long to make this. Keaton just isn’t carrying the same level of energy or vocal delivery to really sell this sequel imo 🤷♂️
To be honest I still question the point of these sequels being made and coming out decades after the original instead of a year or two after. Yes most of the cast and Burton is back so that helps. Guess I might use this as my go back to the theatre film.
Anything with Jenna Ortega in it is worth watching🔥🔥🔥
Imma watch but Tim Burton still a racist.
The movie every millenial has been waiting for finally has a trailer.
Michael Keaton hasn’t missed a beat man. This looks like so much fun
If I wasn’t somehow already sold on how flawlessly Michael Keaton slipped back into character or how they managed to get the original cast back, having Willem Dafoe on the castlist is the perfect bow on the gift to this generation.
Michael Keaton was meant to play Beetlejuice, no one else just him.
Michael Keaton hasn’t played Beetlejuice in like 30 years and yet the moment he comes back to play the role for the sequel, it felt like it was just yesterday that he finished playing Beetlejuice for the first movie. What a legend he is, so blessed to live in the same time as he does
Tim has embraced his original roots!! What a comeback this will be! 🫗🫗🫗
I genuinely feel like I’ve been waiting for this movie my whole life lol
So freaking excited!!! Can’t wait!! Michael, Wynona, and Catherine still have it. Hoping they do have at least one moment in the film where they pay nod tribute to The Maitlands (Adam and Barbara).
I know we ain’t meant to be excited because the reputation of 20+ year old movies getting sequels… but damn I’m excited.
