NYPD arrested the suspect that beat a 65-year-old Asian woman on Monday morning. Brandon Elliot, 38, was charged with assault as a hate crime and attempted assault as a hate crime.
Elliot was convicted of murdering his own mother back in 2002, according to a police spokesperson.
Surveillance video shows a man, who police say ”made anti-Asian statements,” repeatedly kicking and stomping a 65-year-old woman in New York City on Monday.

The woman Elliot physically assaulted was released from the hospital on Tuesday after being treated for serious injuries, according to NBC New York.
