As Stranger Things 5 readies itself for wrapping up the portal once and for all, the cast keeps mum, and fans start speculating, and Netflix tries its best to suppress any leaks, much like a Demogorgon guards its munchies. Caroline Elle Abrams brought fun, drama, and a dash of chaos energy as a guest on Where Is The Buzz. It was both teasing and tempting.
The following are some highlights from our interview with Abrams on Erica Sinclair vs. Tina Turnbow, Will Byers’ character change, her dream co-star from the Upside Down, and the four characters she always roots for.

The crowd wants something big and dramatic. Abrams is a tease.
“Oh, I wish I could tell you I love seeing all the theories out there, and with two characters as bold as Erica and Tina, there are so many directions people can imagine. But that is really all I can say. Everyone will have to wait until Christmas.”
Netflix has had her hidden away in a spoiler-proof vault. We will all wait with bated breath until December.
What Is Will Byers Now?
Will Byers could end up as a bad guy, a hero, or something in between. It appears that Caroline is as baffled as we are.
Will Byers isn’t the nervous and traumatized kid anymore. Something bigger, stranger, and maybe even frightening is emerging. Abrams calls it a surprise for her as well.
“Like everyone else, I was so surprised when I saw Will’s evolution, and I thought it was such an amazing way to tie so many different plot lines together. The Duffers always find a way to surprise us, but it always feels totally right for the story.”
Who’s the MVP of Stranger Things 5 and Caroline’s Dream Partner?
We also wanted to know about the season’s MVP. Abrams had an unexpected response.
“Honestly, I think Derek is adding something so unique and comedic to the show. He is so talented and has been so fun to watch.”
Her dream scene partner would be Eddie Munson.
Stranger Things features a list of fan-revered characters, but then there’s Eddie Munson with his legendary status and metal iconography. Abrams obviously identifies with people who still wear “Eddie Lives” t-shirts.
“Honestly, I would have loved to have been in a scene with Eddie. His character was so chaotic, but also really interesting. I think it would be so fun to play off his energy, whether it be in something comedic or even a dramatic moment.”
Perhaps there might be an area within the Upside Down where Eddie is soloing on the guitar.

Four characters out of a large cast are hard to select, but Abrams selected four who fit just right.
1. Erica Sinclair
“Even before working with Priah, Erica has always been one of my favorite characters. Her intensity in every scene is so fun.”
2. Dustin Henderson
“I think his authenticity makes him so likable as a character.”
3. Max Mayfield
“Watching Max’s character arc also has been so interesting over the seasons. It has been really cool to see how much more connected her character has become with the core group.”
4. Steve Harrington
“His unpredictable nature, you never know what to expect with him, which makes his character really fun.”
But Abrams finishes with a thoughtful observation: “Truthfully, it is so hard to choose because each character adds something so unique and important to the show.”
What is Stranger Things 5 Release Schedule?
Netflix is treating the ending as an event. Volume 1 began on November 26, 2025, with four episodes. Volume 2 will be on December 25, 2025, with three more episodes, and then the series finale on December 31, 2025. A week after Christmas, Hawkins goes dark.
