A former teacher from Iowa is currently facing numerous charges of child sexual abuse. It is alleged that she participated in sexual relationships with at least three of her students and sent them explicit images through a social media application.
Cassidy Sue Kraus, a 24-year-old resident of Westside, was arrested on Friday, as reported by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
She faces charges of third-degree sexual abuse and two counts of lascivious acts with a child, which are class C felonies along with three counts of disseminating obscene material to minors, considered a serious misdemeanor.
According to court records, Kraus is facing accusations of molesting two victims who were 13 years old in May 2022.
Moreover, authorities claim that Kraus engaged in sexual acts with another victim, who was 14 years old during the period from January 17 to January 31, 2023.
The investigation also revealed that between January 2022 and May 2023, Kraus had sent obscene materials to at least three minors using Snapchat.
Kraus was booked into the Carroll County jail by law enforcement on Friday evening and is currently being held without bond.
Kraus resigned from the IKM-Manning Community School District in August instead of facing termination following complaints about alleged inappropriate relationships.
Collectively, the charges entail a potential prison term of up to 33 years and fines surpassing $35,000.
