Celebrate Prince’s birthday with a posthumous album of newly released demos

The Purple One would have turned 61 today. Fans are digging into Originals, a new compilation of demos that Prince wrote and gave to other performers.It was put together by Jay-Z and Troy Carter.

Listening to Prince’s “Originals” for the first time, and I was blown away by the sheer beauty of “Noon rendezvous”: a demonstration of what he could do with a piano and his voice only.
