Chicago’s Angel Reese Ties WNBA Record, Leads Sky to Victory Over Seattle

In a tightly contested game, the Chicago Sky emerged victorious over the Seattle Storm by a score of 88-84. The win was fueled by a dominant performance from rookie phenom Angel Reese, who not only secured a game-high 27 points but also etched her name into WNBA history.

Reese displayed remarkable efficiency throughout the contest, shooting 61.5% from the field (8-for-13) including a flawless 2-for-2 showing from three-point range. She capped off her impressive night with a near-perfect performance at the free-throw line, converting 9 of her 10 attempts.

Moreover, Reese secured a double-double with 10 rebounds, extending her streak to a remarkable 12 consecutive games. This achievement ties the WNBA record for most consecutive double-doubles across multiple seasons, previously held by the legendary Candace Parker.

Angel Reese joins A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, and Napheesa Collier as the only WNBA players to have notched multiple 25-point, 10-rebound double-doubles this season.

While Reese spearheaded the Sky’s offense, teammate Chennedy Carter provided a vital scoring contribution with a stellar 33 points. However, Seattle’s offense, despite Carter’s efforts, was unable to overcome Chicago’s stifling defense and Reese’s relentless dominance on the boards.

The victory solidifies Chicago’s position in the playoff race, while Seattle will look to regroup and return to form in their upcoming matchup.

However, the spotlight of the night undoubtedly shines on Angel Reese. Her performance continues to solidify her candidacy for Rookie of the Year and secures her place among the WNBA’s record holders.
