Very few film directors opt to release trailers a year before the movie’s release, but Christopher Nolan is no exception. Just earlier this month, Universal released a six-minute preview of his film, Odyssey, after a teaser that was not available online. It is time for the world to have its first glimpse of this film.
The Odyssey has been adapted from Homer’s epic poem. In this film, Matt Damon plays Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, who embarks on a return journey after the end of the Trojan War. We read about, but do not witness, all that unfolds on this return journey in this story. Take a look.
Apart from the excellent cast Nolan has assembled for this movie, which also stars Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Mia Goth, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Corey Hawkins, and Benny Safdie, it will be the first-ever narrative film shot entirely on IMAX’s massive film format. This will undoubtedly add an extra layer of excitement for viewers next summer when The Odyssey hits the big screens.
Did this trailer get you more hyped for Nolan’s sword-and-sandals film, or is there anything he can do to top Oppenheimer, his Oscar-winning film? We will find out in 2026.
