Three Americans who traveled to Mexico City for a vacation have been found dead in their Airbnb, The New York Post reports.
The three bodies have been identified as Courtez Hall, Kandace Florence, and Jordan Marshall. The trio was visiting Mexico at the end of October to celebrate the traditional holiday Dia De Los Muertos, known as the Day of the Dead.
Florence’s boyfriend (who did not travel to Mexico City) told the New York Post that he spoke with her on the phone the night she was found dead. He revealed to the publication that she was feeling sick, and the phone call dropped. He reached out to the Airbnb host to do a welfare check, and that’s when the bodies got discovered by the local police.
Mexico City Police pronounced that they were dead when they arrived on the scene. The Mexican capital’s office of the attorney general told Daily Mail that the travelers died from inhaling carbon monoxide.
According to the families of the deceased, they have been in contact with the US Embassy in Mexico but have been struggling with language barriers. “It’s been so hard,” Ceola Hall told the outlet. “We tried calling back over there for the funeral homes. Because of the language barrier and stuff, you cannot get anything through or understand.”
Our condolences and prayers go out to Courtez Hall, Kandace Florence, and Jordan Marshall’s family and friends.
