Courtney Clenney’s Parents Arrested on Evidence Tampering Charges in Connection with Christian Obumseli’s Murder

Kim and Deborah Clenney, the parents of Courtney Clenney, the OnlyFans model accused of fatally stabbing her lover Christian Obumseli in their Miami condo in April 2022, were arrested on Tuesday afternoon in Austin, Texas.

According to Travis County Sheriff’s Office online records, Miami-Dade prosecutors have verified that the Clenney parents are facing unspecified criminal charges relating to evidence tampering.

Christian Obumseli’s legal team confirmed the arrest and told NBC Miami that the claims arose from the suspected manipulation of Obumseli’s laptop. The family’s counsel alleged involvement in deleting information, pointing to a possible purpose for the arrest.

Courtney Clenney’s lawyer replied to the arrests in a statement, calling the charges a “power play by prosecutors to control the narrative.” The defense voiced astonishment and worry, claiming that the arrests were an example of prosecutorial overreach and an attempt to influence media coverage.

According to TMZ, the charges focus on Courtney’s father, Kim Clenney retrieving the laptop from the couple’s Edgewater condo following the deadly altercation in April 2022. He allegedly handed it over to his daughter’s legal team, raising suspicions of evidence manipulation.

Christian Obumseli, 27, died as a result of a terrible occurrence on April 3, 2022. Courtney Clenney, now 27 years old, was arrested in August 2022 on suspicion of second-degree murder. She is still in detention without bail, awaiting trial.

Miami-Dade prosecutors described the couple’s relationship as “extremely tempestuous and combative,” claiming that Obumseli was a victim of domestic violence. Courtney Clenney’s defense claims she was the victim of an abusive relationship and stabbed him in self-defense.
