Crunchyroll, the global destination for anime fans, made a historic debut at CinemaCon, announcing the acquisition and theatrical distribution plans for three highly awaited anime films.
First up is “HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle,” a film rendition of the popular volleyball series and Crunchyroll’s first foray into the theater. Crunchyroll, in cooperation with Sony Pictures Entertainment, plans to release the film in North American theaters beginning May 31, 2024, with more foreign regions to follow.
Following closely behind is “BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI-,” a thrilling soccer animation that promises to enthrall viewers. Crunchyroll, in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment, will begin its theatrical run in North America on June 28, 2024, offering fans an adrenaline-fueled experience on the big screen.
Rounding off the trio is “OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom,” which delves into video game fantasy.
