Dakota Johnson Gushes Over “Verity” Costar Anne Hathaway, Saying “I Would Kiss Annie for the Rest of My Life Every Day”

In an interview on Extra TV, Dakota Johnson said she would keep kissing Anne Hathaway even after filming the psychological thriller Verity ended. The actress jokingly talked about the film’s romance.

When asked about sharing kisses with two stars, Hathaway and Hartnett, the interviewer told Dakota that her character kissed both of them.

“You had the enviable task of kissing them both,” the interviewer said.

“We all kissed each other both,” answered Hathaway.

“So it’s a kisson,” the interviewer joked.

“It’s a miracle nobody got sick. Let’s put it that way,” Hathaway continued. “We did all kiss each other.”

“How lucky,” the interviewer said.

“I would kiss Annie for the rest of my life every day,” confessed Johnson. “If you need me, I’m there.”

“Oh, smooch. You smooch from now on,” Hathaway encouraged. “I love it. I love it. I have to say.”

As for Josh Hartnett, he was somewhat of an exception. “I’ll just be over here,” he joked. “Sorry. It hurts a little bit, but.”

Again, the interviewer turned to him. “Well, I want to talk to you for a moment because you, again, how lucky.”

Dakota Johnson did not miss the chance to tease the actor. “Wait, I’m so sorry. You have every woman in the world left,” she joked.

“No, no, no. That’s ridiculous,” Hartnett replied.

“I’m going to say nice things about you if you don’t quit it,” joked Johnson.

“Please don’t. Please don’t,” Josh answered and described the atmosphere on set. “We had a fun working relationship the whole time on set. For a film that is this intense and twisted and dark, it was just like we just laughed. We had a really fun time. So as much as there was, like, the love and the tension and the lustiness in the movie and on set, we were just goofing around.”

“I totally get it, and it’s so much fun to look at the outside and be like, they all kissed each other,” agreed Hathaway. “It’s a sexy thriller, but in between takes we’re just pals, and it’s just such a funny thing to get to be an actor, and these things that probably seem so strange from the outside are just kind of another day at work.”

The film is based on Colleen Hoover’s novel. Anne Hathaway plays best-selling author Verity Crawford. At the same time, Dakota Johnson portrays Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer who comes to the Crawfords’ secluded mansion to write for her. Josh Hartnett acts as Verity’s husband, Jeremy. Michael Showalter directed the film, and Nick Antosca wrote the screenplay. The film will be released on October 2, 2026.
