A South Carolina youth pastor is accused of filming a number of women and girls, some as young as 14, while they were showering or using the restroom.

Daniel Kellan Mayfield, 35, was arrested in Boiling Springs last week after serving as the youth pastor at Gowensville Baptist Church in Landrum since 2016.

According to the New York Post, Mayfield allegedly recorded his victims, including church members, in private moments without their knowledge or consent.

The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office received a report on May 27th from a woman who claimed Mayfield had recorded her while she was showering at her mother’s house.

According to the incident report, the woman noticed a light outside the bathroom window and went to find it, where she and her sister discovered Mayfield in their backyard.

Investigators identified at least five more victims after examining Mayfield’s phone and discovering that some of them were allegedly filmed in the church’s restroom.

Mayfield allegedly set up a hidden camera and filmed girls as young as 14 on multiple occasions beginning in July 2022.

According to WCSC, Mayfield was charged with five counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of voyeurism.
