Did Sarah Jane Comrie Fake Cry and Falsely Accused A Young Black Man of Stealing A CitiBike?

A video of a New York physician assistant (PA) pretending to cry and scream for help after attempting to prevent a young black man from taking a bike he allegedly reserved is going viral.

Danesh, a TikTok user, identified the woman in the video as Sarah Jane Comrie. Her specialty is in internal medicine, according to her employer’s website.

Many people on social media have emailed her employer, NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, urging them to fire her as a result of the incident.

The following is a statement issued by NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue regarding the incident:

“We have recently become aware of an incident that occurred off campus over the weekend and appears to involve one of our employees. We are sorry this happened and we are reviewing the incident.”

 

“NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue is committed to providing the highest quality of care to all New Yorkers with dignity, cultural sensitivity and compassion.”
