There is also news coming in from Netflix regarding TYGO, a new global action thriller. Don Lee, known for The Roundup series, Eternals, and Train to Busan, alongside Lee Jin-uk, who has worked on Squid Game and Sweet Home, and Lalisa ‘LISA’ Manobal, a member of BLACKPINK and The White Lotus, are part of TYGO’s cast. This is part of the Extraction universe.

TYGO is also Don Lee’s comeback to Netflix after his success with The Roundup and his debut at Marvel with Eternals.

“I’m thrilled that this project, which I’ve been developing for years with AGBO, is finally moving into production,” said Don Lee. “TYGO brings a distinctly Korean identity into the global Extraction universe. We can’t wait to unleash its explosive energy on audiences worldwide.”

Lee Jin-uk also joins the cast. He is very famous globally because of his role in the series ‘Squid Game’. He says, ‘As a fan of the Extraction franchise, it’s a great honor for me to join this universe. I’m especially excited and grateful to be working with Don, whom I’ve always admired, and with Lisa as well. I’ll do my very best to present a film that lives up to your expectations.”

Lalisa ‘LISA’ Manobal, known worldwide for her role in The White Lotus Season 3, starts pursuing leading film roles with TYGO. When asked about her new role, LISA said, “I’m so honored to be a part of this project and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such incredible actors,” she says. “Being in an action movie has always been a dream of mine, so for my film debut to be such an exciting project feels very special.”

The series is developed from an original graphic novel written by Anthony and Joe Russo and Ande Parks. The Extraction series is the most valuable action franchise to Netflix, following the success of two huge productions by AGBO. Producers of TYGO are Don Lee (Roundup, The Gangster, The Devil, and The Cop), Big Punch Pictures; Anthony and Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Michael Disco, and Albert J. Kim, AGBO; Won-ki Choi, Nova Film; and Chris S. Lee, B&C Group. Screenplay is by Cha Woo-jin, and it is directed by Lee Sang-yong (Roundup and Roundup: No Way Out).

TYGO is a series set in the shared “Extraction” universe on the streaming service, Netflix. The story revolves around Tygo (played by Don Lee), a mercenary and former child soldier, who initiates his revenge plan against the participants of Korea’s underworld following the failure of his mission.

In a statement, AGBO’s producer and chief creative officer, Angela Russo-Otstot, explains it is a sign of AGBO and Netflix’s on-going collaborations and commitment to global narratives. “We’re thrilled to explore the world of Extraction through a South Korean lens, teaming up with legendary action star Don Lee and visionary director Lee Sang-yong, whose dynamic choreography exemplifies the world-class craft of Korean cinema. We’re also grateful to continue our creative partnership with Netflix. TYGO marks our ninth collaboration and reflects our shared commitment to bold, global storytelling.”

Choi Won-ki, CEO of Nova Film, speaks about the scale of the project. “Behind TYGO stands a team of seasoned filmmakers and an exceptional cast from Korea and Hollywood, brought together by the global entertainment service Netflix to reach viewers worldwide.”

Chris S. Lee, CEO of B&C Group, adds, “This represents the culmination of years of passion and persistence with our partners at AGBO — a bold, Korea-driven film built from the ground up with a global vision. From inception, we set out to unite world-class talent from all over the world, and this collaboration has surpassed every expectation.”
