DOWN WITH THE KING Starring Freddie Gibbs to World Premiere at Cannes Film Festival

DOWN WITH THE KING will celebrate its World Premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in the ACID (Association for Independent Cinema and its Distribution) section.

Written and directed by Diego Ongaro (Bob and the Trees), DOWN WITH THE KING stars 2021 GRAMMY Award-nominated rapper and songwriter Freddie Gibbs in his debut feature film role, alongside Jamie Neumann (Lovecraft Country, The Deuce), David Krumholtz (The Deuce, The Plot Against America), Sharon Washington (Joker) and Bob Tarasuk (Bob and the Trees).

DOWN WITH THE KING is a drama that follows rap star Money Merc (Freddie Gibbs) whose disillusionment with the music industry and the pressures of being a celebrity sends him away from the city to reevaluate his career and find himself in a small-town farming community.
