Egyptian model Dina Khalil broke down in tears in a TikTok video, saying she believed the outcome of the Argentina vs. Egypt match was unfair and that Egypt deserved to win.
“That was literally the most unfair game I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” Khalil said in the video. “In my heart, we won against Argentina. We deserve that f—— win. I’m gonna say it again and again and again. We deserve the f—— win. That was not fair.”
Despite her frustration with the result, Khalil said she was proud of how the Egyptian team performed.
“I’m so proud of us. I’m so proud of the fight we put up. I’m so proud of how we played. I’m so, so proud of how we walked out,” she said. “We walked out with our heads high. We should be celebrating. That was Argentina, and we — we won. We won. We deserve that win.”
Khalil said she struggled to find the words to describe her emotions following the match.
“I don’t — I have no words. I’m just so proud to be Egyptian,” she said. “I just feel so bad for the players. They deserve that win. Like, that’s so sad. But I’m so proud to be Egyptian. I’m so proud of us.”
She ended the video on a hopeful note, looking ahead to future competition.
“And there’s always a next year,” Khalil said.
