Ellie McCormick Denied High School Diploma Over $15 Laptop Repair Fee From Freshman Year

A Nebraska high school graduate went viral after revealing that she did not receive her diploma on graduation day due to an unpaid fee.

Ellie McCormick posted a video from the aftermath of her graduation in May on the TikTok account (@estarssecretaccount96).

Since it was published on the platform on May 27th, the video has received nearly a million views.

“POV u didn’t get a diploma cuz u lost ur laptop bag freshman year,” the first caption in the video reads.

She’s wearing her cap and gown in the video, and she shows the camera the inside of her diploma cover, revealing a pink slip.

“Your diploma has been pulled until you have paid your laptop repair fee,” the slip says. “Please see the amount below.”

Ellie McCormick owed $15 in school fees. She wrote in the caption, “Hot girls get a pink diploma anyway.”

The Nebraska teen was still able to walk across the stage, despite the fact that she lacked her certificate of completion.
